Healing from Trauma

She helps them process challenging experiences and discover their inner strength. Her trauma work focuses on complex developmental trauma, child sexual abuse, and dissociation. She helps children and families understand the effects of trauma and its impact on behavior, integrating individualized interventions that rebuild trust, strengthen emotional safety, and restore a sense of hope and connection.

Family-Focused Collaboration

Dr. Saelin works closely with caregivers, offering emotional support, education, and practical tools to strengthen family relationships. She helps families navigate the challenges that arise when a child is struggling, ensuring they feel supported and empowered. She provides caregiver coaching to address ongoing challenges, including family therapy when appropriate. Practical Solutions for ADHD

Dr. Saelin provides specialized ADHD care for children, teens, and caregivers. She offers practical tools tailored for each child’s age and characteristics, such as visual schedules, behavioral strategies, and regulation techniques, to help children build routines and strengthen their executive functioning skills. Her therapy with youth also focuses on fostering self-esteem, developing resilience, and improving self-regulation.

For caregivers, Dr. Saelin provides evidence-informed coaching to help them support their child’s brain development, improve behavioral success at home, and advocate for environmental adjustments in school or other settings. This whole-system approach empowers families to create sustainable progress, helping children and teens with ADHD thrive both at home and in daily life.

Navigating Grief and Loss

Family transitions, including adoption, divorce, or significant loss, can be overwhelming for children and their caregivers. Grief and loss often show up differently in children, manifesting as changes in behavior, emotional expression, or difficulties with routines and relationships. Dr. Saelin provides a nurturing space where children can process emotions and regain a sense of stability and purpose. She supports caregivers through these transitions as well, offering guidance, emotional support, and strategies to help them understand their child’s experience and foster healing within the family.

Current Evidence-Based Practices

Dr. Saelin integrates evidence-based practices informed by research on human development, neurology, and resilience. With an emphasis on cultural responsiveness, she adapts interventions to align with each child’s lived experiences, developmental stage, and unique strengths. Her approach combines creativity with science, generating strategies that cultivate confidence, promote growth, and help families recognize and celebrate progress in meaningful ways.
